I have promised the class that if everyone will get their planner signed I will wear my hair in a mohawk for the day. I'm starting to feel pretty safe since it hasn't happened in a week of promising...... Students need to be reading 100 minutes per week as half of their independent reading grade.
A TRACK/B TRACK MATH
A and B track are still at the same point in the year's curriculum. We have been working on different representations of multiplication. We are using a strategy called partial products. You can read more about it by clicking HERE.
HOMEWORK: Continue to work on your basic facts. A Track students mostly have proficiency in addition, but could benefit from lots of subtraction practice. B Track students will want to work on basic addition. See the side bar of the blog for more information. :)
D TRACK MATH
We are studying basic addition facts and have taken home a study sheet of specific facts for each student to work on. We will be talking about strategies for multi-digit addition problems in the upcoming days.
HOMEWORK: Work on basic add facts. Only a few students in D Track are proficient (under 3 seconds per problem).
