My day started with the sad news of Randi's passing.  Randi is a student I have known since she was in 2nd grade and she was one of my 6th graders last year.  My life is truly better for having known her and her family.  We are so lucky to have her brother in 6th grade this year.  My heart goes out to the family.

IMPORTANT NEWS FOR PARENTS OF JPJ STUDENTS WHO APPLIED FOR THE HONOR'S PROGRAM: YOUR CHILD MUST ATTEND A WRITING TEST ON EITHER 4/4 or 4/11 at 2:45 at the JPJ Media Center.

HOMEBASE

• Bunny books were due today (C and D Track)
  
• Vocab and spelling words assigned
  
• We are doing something a little different in place of our vocab maps and in order to prepare us for writing our vocab paragraph.  The students have gone through their "Time For Kids" and found the words.  Then they are writing definitions and a sentence using the word.  From there they should be pretty well set to write their five vocab words in a paragraph.

• HOMEWORK:  Have vocab paragraph EDITED by a parent; Write spelling words in cursive 3x each.

DARE was in my room this afternoon, so there was no math today.

DARE books for C Track were due today; D Track's are due April 9; A & B Track's are due April 23.  DARE Graduation is on April 11 at 10:00 for C and D Tracks and on May 2 at 10:00 for A and B Tracks.
